🍲 Wendy’s Copycat Chili in the Slow Cooker
This **Wendy’s Copycat Slow Cooker Chili** is a rich, hearty, and perfectly seasoned version of the famous fast-food favorite! Made with ground beef, beans, onions, and a blend of spices, it simmers all day to develop deep flavor. Serve it up in a bowl, over fries, or with cheese and onions — just like the original.
Ingredients
- Main: 2 lbs (900g) ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- Spices: 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- To Serve: Shredded cheddar, chopped onions, sour cream
Instructions
- Brown beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add onion, bell pepper, and garlic; cook 5 minutes until softened.
- Transfer to slow cooker: Add beef mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add remaining ingredients: Stir in beans, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, and all spices. Mix well.
- Cook: Cover and cook on **Low for 4–6 hours** or High for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot: Ladle into bowls and top with cheese, onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
Tip: For even better flavor, refrigerate overnight and reheat the next day. You can also use turkey or plant-based meat for a lighter version!
