Ingredients
- Gravy: 1/2 lb (225g) breakfast sausage (mild or spicy)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Bombs: 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 count)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp dried parsley (optional)
- Finishing: 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Make gravy: In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk and simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in cheese and let cool slightly.
- Prep dough: Separate biscuits and flatten each into a 4-inch circle using a rolling pin.
- Season: Mix garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley into the biscuit dough (optional, for extra flavor).
- Fill: Spoon 1–2 tbsp of gravy mixture into the center of each biscuit. Pull up edges and pinch to seal completely.
- Bake: Place bombs in a greased 9-inch round pan or baking dish. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Finish: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with thyme or seasoning.
- Serve warm! Best enjoyed fresh and gooey.
Tip: For extra indulgence, add a small cube of cream cheese to the center. You can also make mini versions using crescent roll triangles for appetizers!
