🥩 Philly Cheesesteak Casserole
This **Philly Cheesesteak Casserole** is a hearty, cheesy twist on the famous sandwich — all baked into a comforting one-dish meal! Tender steak, sautéed peppers and onions, and melty cheese over soft bread cubes make this a family favorite for weeknights or game-day gatherings.
Ingredients
- Steak & Veggies: 1 lb (450g) ribeye or sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sauce: 1/2 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Assembly: 4 cups cubed French bread or hoagie rolls
- 2 cups shredded provolone or Cheez Whiz-style sauce
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Sear steak: In a large skillet, heat oil over high heat. Add steak and sear 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
- Cook veggies: In the same pan, sauté peppers and onions 8–10 minutes until soft. Add garlic in the last minute.
- Add sauce: Stir in beef broth, Worcestershire, soy sauce, and paprika. Return steak to pan and simmer 2 minutes.
- Assemble: In a greased 9x13" baking dish, layer half the bread cubes, all the steak mixture, then the rest of the bread.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle provolone and Parmesan evenly on top.
- Bake 20–25 minutes at 375°F (190°C) until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve hot: Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
Tip: For an authentic touch, use Cheez Whiz instead of provolone. You can also add mushrooms or hot peppers for extra flavor!
