🐶 Peanut Butter Cookies for Dogs
These Peanut Butter Cookies for Dogs are a simple, healthy, and safe homemade treat your pup will go absolutely wild for! Made with just a few dog-friendly ingredients, they're perfect for training rewards, birthday celebrations, or just showering your furry friend with love.
Ingredients
- 1 cup natural peanut butter (unsalted, *no xylitol!*)
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a gluten-free option)
- 1/4 cup water (as needed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix wet ingredients: In a large bowl, combine peanut butter and the egg. Stir until thoroughly smooth.
- Add flour: Gradually mix in the flour until a stiff dough forms. If the dough is too dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until it comes together.
- Roll & cut: On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters (bones, hearts, paw prints) or a glass to cut into shapes.
- Bake 18–22 minutes until the cookies are golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Cool completely before giving them to your dog.
- Store: Keep in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
⚠️ Important: Always ensure the peanut butter you use does NOT contain xylitol — it's extremely toxic to dogs. Look for brands labeled as "natural" or "xylitol-free".
