Ingredients
- Dough: 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- Filling: 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp butter, softened
- Glaze: 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix dough: In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in melted butter, milk, and egg until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out: On a floured surface, roll dough into a 12x9-inch rectangle.
- Spread & fill: Spread softened butter over dough. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over butter.
- Roll up: Starting from the long side, roll dough tightly into a log. Pinch seam to seal.
- Cut: Slice into 8 equal pieces. Place cut-side up in a greased 9-inch round or square baking dish.
- Bake: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla. Drizzle over warm rolls.
- Serve warm! Best enjoyed fresh from the oven.
Tip: For extra gooeyness, add a splash of maple syrup to the glaze. You can also sprinkle with chopped pecans or raisins in the filling!
