These **Honey BBQ Wings** are crispy, sticky, and bursting with sweet honey and smoky barbecue flavor! Whether baked or air-fried, they're the perfect appetizer, game-day snack, or dinner main dish. Ready in under an hour with minimal effort!
Ingredients
- Wings: 2 lbs (about 1 kg) chicken wings, split and tips removed
- 1 tbsp baking powder (NOT soda) — for crispiness (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Sauce: 1/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional, for depth)
Instructions
- Prep wings: Pat wings very dry with paper towels. Toss with baking powder, salt, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Bake or air fry: Arrange on a wire rack over a baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 45–50 min, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy. Or air fry at 380°F for 25–30 minutes, shaking halfway.
- Make sauce: While wings cook, whisk together BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and smoked paprika in a saucepan. Simmer 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Toss: Place cooked wings in a large bowl. Pour sauce over and toss until fully coated.
- Serve: Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and celery sticks.
Tip: For extra glaze, broil wings for 1–2 minutes after saucing (watch closely!). You can also double the sauce and save some for dipping.
