Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare bread: Slice the top off the loaf. Hollow out the inside, leaving about 1/2 inch of bread on all sides. Tear the removed bread into pieces for dipping.
  3. Make garlic butter: In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Butter the bowl: Spread the garlic butter all over the inside and cut top of the bread.
  5. Add cheese (optional): Sprinkle mozzarella or Parmesan on the inside surface.
  6. Bake 12–15 minutes until bread is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  7. Serve warm: Fill with your favorite soup, chili, or dip. Serve with the toasted bread pieces on the side.

Tip: Great with creamy tomato soup, chili, chicken pot pie filling, or queso dip. For a shortcut, use store-bought garlic bread spread!
