Dehydrated Bacon Jerky



This is a really easy bacon jerky recipe for the dehydrator. If you perfer like a candy-bacon jerky try sprinkling some brown sugar over the bacon durring cooking process. Or if you perfer you can just do the bacon plain if not wanting a candy bacon jerky, both ways are very good.



BACON JERKY Cooking Chart
95 dagrees for 4 hours
125 dagrees for 4 hours
If additional time is needed see belowcooking temperature, may be done after 8 hours time
160 dagrees 4 hours
Cooking times may vary, depending on your dehydrator, ( Check after 8 hours to see the consistancy for taste )



Ingredients



2 pounds of thick cut bacon, (Thick Cut Works The Best)
Garlic powder
Onion Powder
Liquid Smoke



Instructions



See cooking tempature chart above
Check after 8 hours for consitancy of texture, bacon should be able to have a little bend to it when done.
Place bacon in a bowl
Add 1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
Mix bacon and liquid smoke, and let sit in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to one hour covered with plastic wrap
Remove bacon after marinating in Liquid smoke, and pat dry with paper towl
Pre-Cook bacon, and place on dehydrator trays
Follow cooking chart above for best results
Place bacon on dehydrator racks, sprinkle both sides with onion powder and garlic powder IF desired
Place into an air tight container once done in dehydrator.
When properly dehydrated, bacon jerky can be kept at room temperaturefor 2 weeks time.
