🍑 Sweet Peach Tea
This **Sweet Peach Tea** is a refreshing Southern classic — lightly sweetened, bursting with fresh peach flavor, and perfect for sipping on a hot summer day! Made with real peaches and black tea, it's a naturally delicious drink that's great for picnics, brunch, or as a cool afternoon pick-me-up.
Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 4 black tea bags (or 4 tsp loose leaf)
- 2 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (or 1 cup frozen)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups cold water or ice
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice (optional)
- Peach slices or mint leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Make peach syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup water and sugar. Add peach slices. Simmer 5–7 minutes until peaches soften and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let steep 30 minutes. Strain and discard peaches (or save for topping).
- Brew tea: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep 3–5 minutes. Remove tea bags.
- Mix: Add the peach syrup to the hot tea. Stir well. For a deeper peach flavor, mash the cooked peaches before straining.
- Cool: Stir in lemon juice (if using) and cold water or ice. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Serve: Pour over ice and garnish with fresh peach slices or mint. Enjoy cold!
Tip: For a sparkling version, mix with lemon-lime soda or sparkling water. You can also use peach nectar instead of fresh peaches for a quicker version!
